My line doesn't answer, or says it's unavailable
What each announcement callers might hear means, and how to fix it.
Call your number and listen for what it says.
“This line is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later.” Usually a payment is more than 10 days overdue. Go to Billing, choose Update card and see invoices, and update your card. Your line comes back right away. See If a payment fails. If your payments are up to date, email us: we may have paused the line.
“There is no message available right now. Please call back soon.” Your line works, but nothing is published. Publish an audio message from Audio messages. See Put your first audio message on your line.
“We’re sorry, this line is having trouble right now. Please call back in a few minutes.” Something went wrong on our side. Try again in a few minutes. If it keeps happening, email us.
“This number is not in service.” Check you dialed the right number: your dashboard shows it under Call your line now. If your account has been closed, its number was released.
Just signed up?
If your dashboard still says “Setting up…” for your number, it isn’t answering yet. This usually takes under a minute after you pay.
